The HCM Public Library Board hosted, through
their Coffee Mornings, various members of local health care
organizations. We heard from members of the County
of Renfrew Emergency Services, the North
Renfrew Long Term Care Centre and the North Renfrew
Family Health Team. This web site was created to provide
links to those and other organizations in the area, that can provide
you with information concerning your health and wellness. Please
follow the links, or phone the numbers provided to get the specific
answers to your questions.
What we learned: Emergency Services do a lot more than just transport
people to and from emergency departments; the North Refrew Long Term
Care has a wealth
of information they are willing to share and are not just about
housing; the Family Health Team at the Deep River and District Hospital
provides more than just a family doctor.
But we already knew some of that. The
second Wednesday of each month, volunteers from The Renfrew County
Paramedics and the North Renfrew Family Health Team come to our
community centre with the staff of the North Renfrew Long Term Care
Centre and together provide services to our seniors. There is
food, companionship and a social program as well as a health
check.
Personal Health Check -
Available to All Residents (Not just our seniors.)
The paramedics and the FHTeam's dietician provide
confidential one and one health checks for you. Come out, the
second Wednesday of each month from 1:00 - 3:00 for your personal
health and wellness check. No pre-registration is required.
First come, first served.
For additional details, please contact the service providers directly.
