Come
Visit Us Our area is
scattered with clean, clear lakes and rivers, which provide a myriad of
opportunities for the outdoor enthusiast. Our municipality has been
featured in numerous outdoor magazines including Gone Fishin'’, The
Ontario Fisherman and Canadian Sport Fishing. The
deep blue waters of the Ottawa River allow you to fish only a few yards
from the dock or miles up or down the river. Consistent
temperatures and currents provide excellent fishing for tackle busting
Northern Pike, Walleye, Bass, yellow Perch and the odd Musky. Area lakes, rivers and streams also have good
fishing for large and smallmouth Bass, native Brook Trout and Lake
Trout. What more could you ask for? Whether you
want to go hiking, swimming, bird watching, fishing, hunting, boating
or water-skiing; lie on the beach; camp in a tipi, tent or trailer or
treat yourself to a massage at our local spa, you’ll find it in Head,
Clara & Maria. Our local library has free internet and WIFI access
so that you can keep in touch with the world.
Whether you
are here for a day, a week, a month or a lifetime, our residents are
friendly, welcoming and will be sure to invite you back.
Our tourism operators are here to serve you. There's always some property changing hands,
if you visit us and want to stay, we’re sure you’ll find something to
fit your style, from rough hunting and fishing camps to deluxe homes
along the Ottawa River. We boast the
lowest municipal taxes in the area; and we’re not that far away. Come to explore, come to stay. For additional information please contact
our Municipal Office at 613-586-2526.

Brent
campground is located 40 km from Highway 17 in the historic railway
village of Brent Station on Algonquin's north side. The campground
features few of the modern conveniences of many campgrounds but,
instead, has a slow-paced, old-fashioned charm that many people
wouldn't trade. Brent has a number of beautiful secluded sites situated on the scenic shores of Cedar Lake, the Park's second largest lake. Other areas are more open and attract those who would like to camp in groups. The campsite offers water, new environmentally friendly washrooms, firewood, swimming areas, exellent fishing and an amazing history. There are no sites with electricity. |
