Due to the resignation of Councillor Ed Aiston there is currently a vacant seat on the Council of the United Townships of Head, Clara & Maria. At the meeting of Friday, December 2, 2011 Council passed by-law number 2011-29 declaring the seat vacant and authorizing an election to be held as soon as possible. As per the Municipal Elections Act nominations will be accepted commencing with the passing of the by-law until 2:00 on Nomination Day set at Friday, December 30, 2011. Posted Dec. 6, 2011 New Waste Management By-Law At the meeting of Friday, December 2, 2011 the Council of the United Townships of Head, Clara & Maria passed by-law # 2011-21 authorizing tipping fees, mandatory recycling and bag limits on garbage to become effective in April of 2012. Council will hold a public meeting(s) in February or March to inform residents of the changes. Please watch for further notice. Posted - June 6, 2011 Judge's Decision - Posted May 20, 2011 Court Transcript - Posted Jan. 4, 2012 Councillors Exonerated On Friday, May 13, 2011 the Clerk was informed that the judge hearing the case decided in favour of Councillor Gibson and Councillor Aiston and they have been reinstated; in fact declared sitting members of Council since their swearing in in December of 2010. A copy of the Judge's decision will be posted once received by my office. As such, a regular meeting of Council will be held on Friday, May 20, 2011 with full council once again.
